If not I am at a loss for solutions. Phillip, I just wanted to thank you for solving my issue.
Follow the on-screen instructions. Say “Thank you” I tried ur advice on my dv but I couldnt do it! I took the laptop apart and the speakers are connected.

I would have rather to plug an external audio device seeing that sound through my audio jack worked than go back to XP as some had suggested I do.
